TURKEY EMERGING BIG TIME AS AN INDIAN WEDDING DESTINATION AND FOR MICE SUMMITS.

Turkey is the home of unique nature, culture’ and deep-rooted historical & religious prestige, which reflects in its 18world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO. It also offers diverse cuisine and entertainment options, along with world-class hotel and transportation service and the popular tourist sites while drawing attention to the emerging trends of adventure tourism, faith tourism and the country as a trending wedding destination.

Turkey has always been a popular destination amongst Indian travellers. In last few years, the country has emerged as a vital destination for Indian weddings and MICE summits. The Turkish Tourism board is now actively promoting Turkey as MICE and wedding destination. They recently announced that the number of Indian tourists travelling to Turkey has doubled within the period of January-June 2018 as compared to the previous year. The tourism board registered an upward trend in the first half of 2018 and is aiming to host 200,000 Indian tourists by the end of this calendar year.

 

The Turkish Tourism board in India is hosting regular meetings & sessions with wedding designers & wedding planners, florists, entertainment managers, culinary artists and hoteliers that play a vital role in destination weddings. Similarly, there are regular meetings with corporate houses and MICE agents.

From 11th to 14th July, Istanbul hosted 3000 people as a MICE group travelling from an Indian company, Sunpharma and at the same time an Indian wedding for 400 people took place in Istanbul. Prior to that, another popular destination of Turkey, Bodrum, hosted a big Indian wedding at the famous Lux resort. The guests and family travelled via Turkish Airlines A330 charter flight to attend the gala weddings.
