With pride, Malaysia Airlines has announced that it has resumed its first-ever daily service flight from Kuala Lumpur to the Maldives on 3 August 2024. At 10:10 a.m., Boeing 737-800-operated flight MH485 took off from KL International Airport (KUL) with a 100%  passenger load factor of 174. The four-and-a-half-hour direct trip was greeted with a water salute at 11:25 a.m. local time at Velana International Airport (MLE). The latter half departs at 12.30 p.m. local time from MLE to KUL.

This significant event marks the 13th South Asian destination for Malaysia Airlines, highlighting its dedication to growing its footprint in important markets. Malaysia Airlines last operated direct flights into the Maldives in 2017.

Additionally, Malaysia Airlines is providing special promotional pricing from now until August 31, 2024, in conjunction with the opening of the new route, to allow visitors to experience the magnificent scenery, pristine oceans, and top-notch resorts of the Maldives. All-in return Economy Class tickets, with the theme “The Time for the Maldives,” start at USD 299 and are valid for travel until March 30, 2025. Along with this, passengers can benefit from 10% off add-ons when buying ancillary bundles, which consist of other amenities.
