On February 4, 2026, High Commission of Sri Lanka celebrated the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of Sri Lanka. The event was graced by Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs, as Chief Guest, alongside H.E. Ms. Mahishini Colonne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India. The occasion also highlighted the enduring friendship shared between Sri Lanka and India – two nations bound by shared heritage, trade, and dreams for a brighter tomorrow.
