Tell us about the must-try three things to do in Azerbaijan?

Must-try three things in Azerbaijan will include visiting historical places, trying delicious national cuisine and go on exciting shopping tour. Start your sightseeing with Baku city, one of the most beautiful capitals of the world. Right in the heart of Baku you will find an old walled city of Icheri Sheher, which is inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here you will discover Maiden Tower of 12th century and Shirvanshah Palace that was built in 13th century. Also visit Sheki, Ganja, Guba and other cities.

Try national cuisine with variety of dishes such as Dushbara, Dolma, dozens of varieties of Kebabs and more than 50 types of Plov (Biriyani). When you finish your meal do not forget about the delicious desert – world famous Azerbaijani Baklava and Shekerbura with a cup of local tea will give you a feeling of bliss.

While on shopping tour you can explore local markets to buy jewelry, souvenirs, beautiful silk shawls (kalagayi) and famous Azerbaijani carpets.

Are there any similarities between Azerbaijan & India? Comment.

Azerbaijanis and Indians share love for music and cinema. Indian movies are very popular in our country and many of them were filmed in Azerbaijan. Famous tourist locations such as Indian Ateshgah Temple (Home of Fire) and Yanardag (Burning Hill) located on the outskirts of Baku city is a surviving proof of the age-old relationship between the two friendly countries since the times when Indian traders were carrying their goods to European countries via Azerbaijan. People in our countries also share the same values: hospitality, strong family bonds, respect for elderly and other.

Which is your favorite travel destination in the world and why?

My favorite travel destinations are Taj Mahal, Agra and Ateshgah Temple, Baku. Because, both of them are miracles and pearls of Indian culture. Till late 1960s there was a live eternal fire burning in Ateshgah temple which has inscriptions in Sanskrit and Punjabi on its entrance and is preserved by Government of Azerbaijan as a museum.
