Christmas Trip for Diplomats to the Mountains- Mussoorie, Uttarakhand

Mussoorie, renowned as the ‘Queen of the Hills’, situated in Uttarakhand. This exquisite town, 30 kms uphill from the capital city of the state Dehradun. The green rolling hills, rice terraces, and chilly mist creates a very cool setting for a getaway to the sprawling Himalayan mountains, flowing rivers, and sunset spots like no other capturing the heart of millions. Distance is 290kms from New Delhi. 

We will board a car/ bus from New Delhi at 5.30AM. We will share pick up points near the date.

Day-wise Itinerary:

Day 1-

Arrival & check- in the hotel at Mussoorie. After some relaxation, you can explore the mall road.

Day 2- Visit the Camel’s Back Road, and Gun Hill. 

  • Meal- Breakfast & Dinner

Day 3- Explore Landour- visit the Church, and the old charm of the place.

Day 4– After breakfast check out for Departure.

Day 1- 23rd December 2023

 Arrival in Mussoorie followed by visit to Mall Road

Once you arrive at Mussoorie, check into your hotel and refresh yourself. After relaxing for a bit, we will visit the Mall Road that is said to be ‘The Gateway to Mussoorie’. The Mall is the main shopping area situated at the center of Mussoorie.

Day 2- 24th December2023

Visit to Camel’s Back Road, Gun Hill

After breakfast we head for sight seeing. The second day will start with an adventurous visit to Camel’s Back Road, a 3 km long road in Mussoorie, features natural rocks resembling camel’s hump, stunning Himalayan views, and a 180-year-old British cemetery. It’s a popular spot for sunrise and sunset viewing, and offers a scenic walk or early morning jog. Followed up with the Gun Hill, Mussoorie’s second-highest point, offers panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges. It is the ropeway that is named after a gun used during pre-independence days. It is located 400 ft above Mall Road, a popular attraction for photographers and nature lovers. Head back to your hotel and relax.

Day 3- 25th December 2023

 Explore Landour- visit the Church, and the old charm of the place.

Landour, a picturesque town in the Garhwal Himalayas, offers stunning views of up to 200km of Himalayan peaks, including Swargarohini, Banderpooch, Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Kedarnath and displays the magnificent architecture and culture of those times. Gorge on a scrumptious meal here if you wish.

We will visit the Church on Christmas Day.

Day 4- After breakfast check out for Departure

The final day of Mussoorie ends with lots of beautiful memories with unforgettable views to cherish. Post-breakfast bid goodbye to the scenic views of the Queen of Hills for departure.
