Israel Celebrates its 77th Independence Day

On May 8th, the Embassy of Israel in India marked their National Day with a grand celebration at the Grand, New Delhi. Reuven Azar, the Ambassador of Israel to India, warmly welcomed esteemed guests, with Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, serving as the Chief Guest of the evening.

During the event, Chouhan, Union Minister commemorated Israel’s 77th Independence Day, extending his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Israel. He emphasized the significance of strengthening the strategic partnership between India and Israel, underscoring the shared commitment to fostering development and prosperity for both nations.

In his address, Chouhan also reflected on recent events, condemning the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, stating that it was not just an assault on tourism and communal harmony but an attack on humanity itself. He further spoke about ‘Operation Sindoor’ and Pakistan’s terrorist activities, asserting that mere condemnation is no longer enough—decisive action is required.

Reuven Azar, the Ambassador of Israel to India added that Israel is a true friend of India and will remain committed to this friendship.

The celebration witnessed a gathering of distinguished guests, including Subramanian Swamy, Member of Rajya Sabha. Ambassadors and High Commissioners from Bhutan, Japan, Belgium, Norway, Uzbekistan, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Malta, and Seychelles were also present, adding to the significance of the evening.
