August 7th, 2026, marked the 217th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Ecuador, celebrated by the Embassy of Ecuador in New Delhi with a commemorative reception. The celebrations were led by H. E. Mr. Fernando Bucheli, Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to India, who welcomed dignitaries, diplomats and guests to honour Ecuador’s historic journey of independence and its enduring partnership with India.
The reception was graced by Shri Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. His presence underscored the strength of diplomatic relations and the growing cooperation between India and Ecuador.
The evening featured cultural highlights and reaffirmed the friendship between the two nations, reflecting shared values of democracy, collaboration and sustainable development.
