On 23 April 2026, the High Commission of South Africa in India hosted a reception in New Delhi to celebrate South Africa’s Freedom Day. The event welcomed distinguished guests from the diplomatic, government, and business communities. H.E. Mr. Anil Sooklal, High Commissioner of South Africa to India, together with Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, commemorated the evening, with Mr. Naik serving as Chief Guest. The year 2026 is a milestone for the country as it marks the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa.
