 ITA Airways expands global connectivity

ITA Airways has launched its seasonal flights from Rome Fiumicino to Málaga, Valencia, and Marseille this summer. The new services strengthen the airline’s Mediterranean network during the peak travel season. The routes operate from June 1 to September 30, 2026. Passengers get direct access to popular European summer destinations. They also offer smooth connections via Rome Fiumicino hub across the airline’s wider network. The launch was marked with inaugural ceremonies in Málaga, Valencia, and Marseille.

Regarding the new service, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew remarked: “We are delighted to launch this direct flight service to Mauritius, making it easier for Africans and other international tourists to visit this beautiful African island destination, while also enhancing business and trade opportunities. As a leading carrier on the continent, expanding our African network remains one of our top priorities, in line with our vision of strengthening connectivity among African nations and linking the continent more closely with the rest of the world.”

The airline is also expanding its Mediterranean footprint this summer. New routes include Mykonos, Alicante, and Trapani. Frequencies have increased to Brindisi, Lampedusa, Pantelleria, Palma de Mallorca, Nice, and Tunis. On the domestic network, seasonal services now connect Olbia with Turin and Genoa. This improves travel across Italy. International growth continues as well. ITA Airways operates the Rome–London Heathrow route twice daily. It has also launched a new Rome–Houston direct service, the first of its kind. In Asia, frequencies to Bangkok and Delhi have increased to meet rising demand.
